The 100-240 is designed for today's vehicles and electrical systems that do not allow a direct connection for adding a CHMSL (3rd Brake Lamp) power lead. Many vehicles will now show an error/warning on the Driver's Information Center when they detect the extra power load on the circuit The 100-240 is designed to be connected to the tail light wiring at the tail light location. This connection is used as a trigger to light the CHMSL Lamp. Power to drive the lamp is supplied by the vehicle battery. Connect only as shown in the instructions to the Brake Lamp +12V wire only.
